COVID 19 Scam Targets College Students

The Federal Trade Commission issued a warning yesterday that there is a COVID 19 Scam targeting college student.  The fraudsters are misrepresenting themselves as employees of their college financial department. The official Federal Trade Commission Consumer Division announcement is below.

COVID 19 Scam Targets College Students

Both students and parents need to be careful with regards to your college-related information.  As a reminder, your FSA ID and Password give a person access to the following personal information. This would include:

  • Full Name
  • Address
  • Birthday
  • Social Security Number

Your FSA ID and Password are your electronic signature to the Federal Financial Aid process and student loans information.
